Custom tattoo for something you’d like to remember–or forget
Covering up a tattoo is challenging, even for the most experienced tattoo artists. At Verno's Custom Tattoos, about 50% percent of our business comes from people unhappy with tattoos that they have gotten at other shops.
It is possible to integrate a new design into your tattoo so that you won't see or notice the old tattoo. The goal is to make the cover up look original and good. We will work closely with you every step of the way through this process.
Know Your Options
When you come to our shop, we will review your tattoo, looking at its color, size, location and other factors to determine how we can best recreate your tattoo. Your artist will discuss your options with you, explaining everything to you so that you can make an informed decision. At our shop, there are no surprises. We will also let you know how much it will cost (link to cost page), upfront, too.
The average length of time between restoring a tattoo is about 5 years or longer, depending on the quality of the tattoo artist and the care the tattoo has received (Link to Tattoo Aftercare). Restoring an old or faded tattoo is easier to do than a cover-up. We do them regularly at our Madison tattoo design shop.
Restoration of a tattoo can bring back its life and make you feel good when you see it. It can also bring it more into focus. The inks used today are more vibrant than inks of even a decade ago. A good percentage of our customers seek us out for tattoo restoration services.
Easier Fixes for Old Tattoos
Sometimes, a tattoo can be restored simply by working with the existing lines of your tattoo. We may be able to widen, lengthen or even out the lines of your tattoo. We also regularly restore tattoos by making colors brighter or darkening them.
